Back in 2014-ish I bought a journal that Tim Ferriss, the grand-poobah of optimization and biohacking, recommended. He was singing the praises of gratitude practices and it sounded like a good idea.
The journal started each day with 3 things you’re grateful for… so I tried it it… and I felt awful. Not only did I stop doing it, but I was left wondering: “what’s wrong with me!?”
